Love Salmon!

Kanaan (pronounce it "Canon" in english) Etterem restaurant is the first restaurant I went in Budapest. It was recommended by the hotel receptionist where I stayed and it took around 10-15 mins walk from the hotel.

The restaurant was located a bit far from the street shops but still it is in nearby tourist attractions area. During my visit, it was lunchtime but few customers were in the restaurant and I started to wonder whether this restaurant serve good meals. My friends and I were directed to upstairs seat which are more spacious and privacy.

I ordered pan fried salmon with capers in white sauce and potatoes and ginger beer as for my drink (most of the time, I bought Kinley ginger beer in Budapest; I found its taste is more refreshing than what I used to have).

Oh my! the salmon was perfectly cooked; not too dry, capers in white sauce blend well with the salmon however I am not sure about the baked mash potatoes. It was wrapped by the filo pastry and nicely presented but it was lack of basic ingredients; salt and pepper.

The lunch costs me around HUF5,400 which was more or less equivalent to GBP18. Yeah... it was expensive but believe me it was worth it...

Simple yet delicious

Before boarding the plane to Budapest, I managed to grab a sandwich for my breakfast. I knew there will be a light meal serve on board but my tummy can't wait any longer.

So, I stopped by at EAT. It sells varieties of sandwich, salad, dessert, drink and etc.. I picked Crayfish sandwich; crayfish meat, granary bread and wild rocket salad. I don't remember now the price but I am definitely sure it is under GBP4.00.

It is indeed a simple sandwich compared to what I have reviewed before but the bread and salad makes the difference. As far I know, this salad is not available in Brunei but if there is, then any sandwich shop in Brunei should explore more than just lettuce, cucumber and tomato.
